Tag Colours

All farmers have to double tag breeding sheep with a yellow, electronic identification tag and a second, management tag containing the same identification information as is in the electronic tag. Welsh Mule Association members are required to tag their ewe lambs using a management tag of a specific colour every year as well as the yellow, electronic one. The reason for this is that it helps buyers to more easily identify the year that a particular sheep was born.

2023 Orange

2024 White

2025 Pink

2026 Brown

2027 Purple

2028 Green

2029 Blue
